Choosing the Right Garage Door
A roller garage door coils into a compact drum above the opening. It can be a practical choice when ceiling space matters, including garages used for storage.
A sectional garage door travels along tracks and rests beneath the ceiling. It provides a broad choice of panel profiles, finishes, windows and insulation options, making it popular where the door is a prominent part of the home.
A tilt door opens as one panel. It can suit particular openings and architectural designs, but the swing path, driveway clearance and operating hardware need to be considered carefully.
The right answer depends on the opening, headroom, driveway, wind exposure, appearance, daily use and budget. Scott measures the opening and explains the practical differences before recommending a product.
Repair, Upgrade or Replace?
A repair is often sensible when the door remains structurally sound and the problem is isolated to a spring, cable, roller, hinge, track, remote or serviceable motor component.
Replacement becomes more practical when the door is badly damaged, repeatedly failing, no longer secure, unsuitable for the opening or likely to require several major components at once. If the door itself is sound but manual operation has become inconvenient, automatic garage doors may provide the upgrade you need without replacing everything.
Scott will explain both options where both are reasonable. You can then compare the immediate repair cost with the likely remaining life, safety and convenience of the existing system.
Built for Northern Beaches Conditions
Coastal exposure can accelerate corrosion on springs, tracks, fixings and motor components. The correct finish and hardware depend on the property’s actual distance from the coast, shelter, wind exposure and maintenance history.
Ace does not treat every coastal home as identical. Scott checks the site and recommends materials and maintenance appropriate to the property rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all specification.
If you notice surface corrosion, frayed cables, a door that has become heavier, or a motor that is straining, arrange an inspection before the fault turns into an unsafe or inconvenient breakdown.

What Happens When You Contact Ace
Tell us the door type, the problem or the kind of new door you are considering. Photos can help with an initial discussion, but a new installation still needs an accurate measure and site assessment.
For repairs, Scott checks the complete door before recommending work because a motor problem can sometimes be caused by a poorly balanced door, damaged hardware or incorrect limits. For new doors, the opening, tracks, clearances, power, access and finish are considered before the quote is finalised.
Once you approve the quote, the work is completed and the door is tested through its full operating cycle. With a new motor or door, the controls and manual release are demonstrated before the job is finished.
